in co-production with Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo
A delicate and touching performance about the greatest taboo of our culture. Known for its talent in moving skillfully and subtly between poetry and narration, the duo Balivo and Dammacco casts a glimmer of light on death with La morte ovvero il pranzo della domenica. On stage, Balivo – formerly awarded the “Ubu Prize for best actress under 35” and the “Ivo Chiesa Prize” – gives body and voice to a no-longer-young woman who every Sunday goes to lunch with her over 90-year-old parents, that is, the true protagonists of the delicate and humorous text written by Dammacco–already awarded the “Ubu Prize for best new play” for his Spezzato è il cuore della bellezza. Although in good physical and mental health, the two parents are aware that they will soon have to face death, nothingness perhaps, or maybe another life; so they talk of nothing else but that. The play presents itself as an invitation to a passionate and amusing farewell that tries to depict the beauty of life within the experience of separation from our loved ones.
