Ritratti, rumori (Portraits, Noises) is a performance for electric guitar and modular synthesiser. The compositional set-up is determined by the search for a dialectical balance between premeditation and improvisation, investigating what is the minimum number of constraints necessary for the construction of a musical process. Whether it is his intuition that guides the performance or the sound that influences his imagination, Ruggero Fornari’s live set is linked to an ancestral character of sound as a direct expression of a living body.
